The family travels to Thailand to spend their Christmas vacation at a beautiful coastal resort.

The Sudden Strike

On the morning of December 26, while the family is enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the resort, an unexpected disaster occurs. Suddenly, a massive tsunami strikes the area, a huge wave bringing with it immense destruction, sweeping across the coast and destroying everything in its path. In moments, the resort turns into ruins, and the family is separated amidst the chaos.

Maria and Lucas

Maria is swept away with her eldest son Lucas by the destructive waters. The scenes depict how the two struggle to survive amidst the devastation. Maria is severely injured, suffering from a deep wound in her chest and a broken leg, yet she endures the pain and continues to try to keep her son Lucas alive. Eventually, they reunite and begin searching for a safe place.

While wandering through the floods, they come across a small child named Daniel, who is alone and crying. Despite her critical condition, Maria insists on rescuing him and taking the child with them.

After great hardship, the three are rescued by local villagers who take them to a nearby field hospital.

Henry, Thomas, and Simon

In another part of the devastated area, Henry survives with his two sons, Thomas and Simon. They find themselves facing enormous challenges as they search for the rest of the family. Henry is overwhelmed with anxiety and fear for the fate of Maria and Lucas.

He decides to send Thomas and Simon to a safe place with a group of foreign tourists, while he stays behind to continue searching for his wife and eldest son.

The Hospital and the Search for the Family

At the hospital, Maria is gravely injured, and her condition requires immediate surgery. Lucas, who stays by her side, begins helping the hospital staff by reuniting other families, hoping that he might find his father and brothers.

Meanwhile, Henry searches frantically through hospitals and shelters, desperately trying to find Maria and Lucas. Each passing moment increases his tension and fear that he may have lost them forever.

The Emotional Reunion

In one of the most moving scenes, Lucas receives a call from his father while at the hospital. There's a moment of disbelief as he realizes his father is alive. Henry then meets Lucas at the hospital, embracing his son tightly in a deeply emotional moment. This moment reflects the profound pain and fear they endured, but also the immense joy and relief of being reunited.

Henry takes Lucas to see Maria in the hospital, finding her in a critical condition but still alive. The family is finally reunited, but they know that the journey to recovery is far from over.

The Ending and Recovery

In the end, the family is flown to Singapore on a special medical plane to receive further treatment. Maria undergoes successful surgery, but the film focuses on the emotional and psychological impact this disaster has had on the family. In the final scene, we see the family on the plane, looking out the window at the immense destruction left by the tsunami.
